1) Is the Search function capable of searching Web pages in multiple
languages?
2) Is it possible to perform a search in German to understand how GSA

Hi,
There is an open source project to allow simultaneous multi-language
search here:
http://code.google.com/p/cross-lang-ent-search/
I am not sure what you mean by #2 but yes, the GSA does support German
and works very similarly to google.com with regards to language.
