Hello Friends,
Thanks to everyone who joined us on Tuesday's National Coordination call - it was exciting to hear about the plans that are developing in communities around the country. By the end of today www.anewdayforimmigration.org will be updated with ALL events that we have received info on. If there are any errors or changes, simply email me. And thanks for organizing an event in your area, as we hear from more groups organizing events in their area we are exciting to see the energy growing on May 1!!!!!!
IF YOU KNOW of other events, or other folks that would like signs for their events, simply have them email me- we want everyone to join in!
Here are some important updates:
1) SIGNS - Thank you to everyone that sent me request for signs. We will be mailing these within the next few days. in MOST cases we will be sending you more signs than you requested, where possible. We cannot take specific orders for different signs, so you'll receive the mix that we are able to send you. Sorry for the inconvenienve. THANK YOU to America's Voice (www.americasvoiceonline.org) for creating these signs. We will also have simple stickers for you to hand out at the event.
ATTACHED: please find the proofs of the signs that we will be sending you.
2) SPANISH - We've translated the Cellphone Action Network and Talking points etc. into spanish in case you need them, please see attached docs.
3) MEDIA: DJ outreach on Cellphone Action Network, later today I will be sending you information and resources to reach out to your local Radio DJ's and ask them to push the Cellphone Action Network Number "Justice"/"Justicia" 69866 on their radio shows as the promote May 1. We will also have sample press releases and other materials available around local media shortly.
Once again, if you know of places that are having May 1 events that are NOT yet listed on www.anewdayforimmigration.org , please have them email me so we can list them and get them signs- reporters are already asking for the the list of events and we are directing them to that website.
