DEMAND FAIR TREATMENT FOR STREET VENDORS
THE STREET VENDORS ASSOCIATION CALLS FOR: stopping the abuse of vendors by security personal of SWAPA-RAMA.
Back of the Yards, Chicago, IL - Street vendors will be organizing a call of support to customers who enjoy corn (elotes) and tamales, traditional foods of our countries. Swapa-rama employs private security personnel who act like they have police authority. These elements then attack and abuse the street vendors located in the vicinity of the flea market, though they are not located on the actual premises of the market. The vendors are only trying to put bread on the table of their families.
Street Vendors Association is going to collect signatures of support of their activities and they are going to provide food such as elotes, chicharrones, snow cones and many others products for free at 43th street and Ashland Ave. this Saturday from noon to 3pm.
