Hi,

This is unbelieveable.

Discovery Communications has just announced that they'll be producing a
"reality TV" series starring Sarah Palin.

Yes -- the same Sarah Palin who escalated Alaska's war on wolves and
offered a $150 bounty for the severed front-forelegs of dead wolves. The
same Sarah Palin who fought against increased protections for America's
struggling polar bear populations. And the same Palin who fought against
the increased protections for the dwindling Cook Inlet beluga whales.

I'm troubled that Discovery Communications -- known for their stunning
wildlife-focused productions -- would choose to embrace such a
controversial and anti-wildlife person as Sarah Palin to represent Alaska
and the wildlife that lives there.

That's why I've joined Defenders of Wildlife's fight to get Discovery
Communications to drop Sarah Palin's new show, and I am hoping you will
too.

Please sign the petition online at http://action.defenders.org/discovery.

Thanks for helping.

Actually, killing wolves and bears is part of Alaska's Wildlife Conservation
Program which is a largely Democratic run organization.
http://www.wildlife.alaska.gov/index.cfm?adfg=control.main I don't like it
either, but their DNR deems it necessary to sustain caribou and moose
numbers. Please read their article at that link.

To blame one person in order to get hardworking people like you and me to
donate money is a shame in today's economy. :( Just more hate aimed at
certain individuals without looking at the whole picture.

I'd say we humans are the messed up ones.
Wolves are doing what they do naturally, humans can control their own
populations.
Palin chaps my hide big time, she's a digrace to women & to any
intelligent being..
The DNR (Do Nothing Right) can't be trusted to do what's right either cuz
they get governemnt money.
Vivious cycle all around. Glad MN hasn't delisted wolves -yet!
Jan
Help control the human population, have a loved one spayed or neutered.

Plus I bet you can't come up with half the balony they come up with!
Until we "harvest" "cull" our own, we'll never get above water.

Yup, humans are messed up. I'm so SICKENED by all the animal abuse going
on. It makes me SO mad! How can people DO the things they do to
defenseless animals! Hopefully, when my kids graduate high school I will be
able to work in the area of helping stop animal abuse, and working with
animals. That's my goal, anyway.

because humans do it to each other. It is sick.
I know your kids know the difference cuz you're teaching them compassion
for ALL life.

Yes, I hate animal abuse. I think it's good that you can see both sides of
the issues.

My rats told me to be part of the solution,
not part of the problem.

And they know.

Jan, we recently took an injured Robin to the Wildlife Rehab Center in
Roseville. My eldest daughter has applied to volunteer there in either the
mammal nursery or the waterfowl nursery! Hopefully she'll be accepted! She
wants to be a vet tech! She's in 11th grade right now, so we're in the
process of visiting vet tech schools and making decisions. :) Yea!!

What a good girl! We need some good techs ;-)

I left the garage door open for just a few minutes & a junco got in and was
flapping against the window.
I took him in both hands & showed him the way out.

It's also amost circus time here too, darn Shriners!

On a happier note, Ella & Miley are getting plain squirrely. Ella gets so
excited about food she doesn't wait for me to put the dish in, she runs
down my arm & tries to get in the bowl ;-) then Miley takes all the block &
stashes it while Ella gets the treats.
If I have them both on me while fixing their dinner, they both dive under
my hoodie & crawl around LOL Makes it hard to get the food ready cuz I'm
afraid Ella will just fall off my butt.

where are you located again? Can't keep it straight in my head. Maybe I can
help with the choice of the schools -

Hi Lindsay, We are in MN. We're looking at Ridgewater CC in Willmar right
now. My daughter says she wants to go out of state though, which we don't
want her to (more money), so we're trying to encourage her to stay in MN.
