Late Mr. Surjan Singh Bhandari
N.S.G. Commando 
 
During The Attack on Akshardham temple on 24th September 2002 this
Brave Man fought the greatest battle of his life. Yes he was the N.S.G.
Commando Late Mr. Surjan Singh , who sacrificed his life for the Nation.
Sadly On 19th May 2004 he lost the Toughest an d Longest battle against
life exactly after 600 Days being in Coma, he lost this life.

The Bullet which hit him in the head made him Unconscious for almost
600 days. His family members were hoping that one day their Hero will
open his eyes but he didn't.

It was the Longest Wait for the family members of this Brave Man. When
the whole India was busy in Guessing Who will be the Next PM of the
country - Will it be Sonia or will it be Manmohan Singh, This man was
fighting his Last battle. But it's so sad that in the hype of all the
Political Drama, the News about his Death was Lost like a needle in a hay
stack! Even the leading News Papers & So Called Best News Channels of
India which Works on 24 X 7 basis, failed to highlight this story of the
Brave Man. Unfortunately it was mentioned somewhere on the middle page
of some newspaper.....This was the Reward for the Brave task for which
he lost his life.

Besides his Family members, only one thing was there with him during
those toughest 600 days. It was there near his bed till the last Moment.
Can you guess what it was?............... It was the "Tiranga", yes!
Our National Flag, which was saluting him for his Great cause. Absolutely
No words can suffice our Gratitude towards him...
 
 
If news papers refuse to cover, TV channels refuse to cover, let us do
our bit.
Please forward this mail to as many people as you can.
This is the only way we can salute his Bravery...

well, as much as i respect faujis.. that still doesn't mean we need to serve in the army in order to be able to appreciate it.

 

military service nahin, par do saal ki miltary training compulsory ki jaa sakti hai..along with your eleventh-twelth class regular education.. or something like that.. it teaches you a lot of discipline.. aur yeh anushaasan zindagi bhar kaam aayega!

 

Can there be a proposal moved in this regard?

Do you think we can merge military training with NCC and then make it compulsory for everyone to take the training??

But I don't think parents will be ready for a move like that. For lot of them life begins and ends with education. Coming from the south I have seen some very extreme mentalities as well.

Sainik schools.. that i know of... still churn out the best of kids..

 

let military training not be confused with a very high degree of training in combat and use of arms/ammunition.

 

we're talking of instilling military discipline in every student. resident/boarding schools can incorporate it.. that's in a way.. an integral component of a wholesome personality..

 

govt. schools have too many issues to resolve anyways.. what's to be seen is.. if the idea finds any private takers!

I didn't mean training with arms either. I only meant the physical and mental training that the military gets. And unless it is forced I don't see many parents willing to see their children go through all that.

Hi!

 

As far as I know, Britain has a compulsory requirement of military service for every male in the nation.

 

We only need the training.... basically.. the parents have to be made to see sense in the usefullness of the discipline that is inculcated in the child when it goes through such a rigorous training program. It would have positive repercussions on anything the boy/girl does in future!

 

As for Sainik Schools, they have a hostel system, our regular CBSE curriculum, but adding on to it, there's some kind of an NCC discipline.. regarding the exercise routine and all!

i think you can find out more about it on google!

 

I have a couple of friends in IIT, who have been to sainik schools, and definitely relish the experience.. even beyond hte joys of hostel life and all.

Well If students who have attended Sainik Schools like the curriculum so much I think this plan is feasible. But still I don't see how we can convince the parents without imposing a rule atleast for the first few batches, till it all b treated as regular. But I don't know much abt these, so I don't think I should be speaking abt it.
