Subject: Lecture on History of Science by Prof. A. P. Shukla
To:

Dear all,
Prof. A. P. Shukla,  who retired many years back from Kanpur  IIT as Professor of Physics, has been organically involved in various People's Movements especially, 'Peoples' Science Movement' in India. He is currently in Pune. We are organising his talk in Hindi based on the book 'A People's History of Science' by Clifford D. Conner. This book documents how, unlike what the dominant view would like us to believe, ordinary people, artisans played a primary role in the development of science and technology. The attached file prepared by Abhay Shukla gives a concrete idea about this book. It will be quite a treat to listen to Prof. Shukla on this important book.

Venue- Lokayat Hall, 3rd Floor, Lenovo building, Opp. Syndicate Bank, Law College Road, Near Nal Stop, Pune.

Date:  Sunday, 25th May

Time:  6.30 pm. onwards

Pl. book 25th May Sunday evening for this programme.

In solidarity,
