Winduh 8 Piles (TM) cannot do a safe fast shutdown
--------------------------------------------------

The windiot who wrote this article doesn't know
his windopws piles (TM) issues from Linux issues:

http://www.h-online.com/open/features/Linux-and-Windows-8-Fast-Startup-puts-data-at-risk-1780640.html

In the troll's urgency to blame Linux what he forgot
to mention windopws piles (TM) will be destroyed if
you say move the disk to another windopws computer
and do the same things!!!

DOH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What UTTER FCKSWIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So the moral of the story is never ever never shut
down a windopws computer using its fast shutdown fast boot option.
Particularly if there are removable disks in the loop.

Because it has been written by amateurs
in a third rate company called Microshaft,
your disk WILL get toasted if
you had to take it to another computer
to do something with it - which most
big corporations do on a daily basis.

Banks and financial institutions are at high risk.
So are accounting departments in big
corporations.

You have been warned.

The best thing to do is kick out windopws, hire more
Linux engineers, or cross train, and start installing Linux
everywhere as the banks and stock markets already do
achieving 90% cost savings:

http://www.computerweekly.com/news/2240175662/Barclays-Linux-programme-not-a-snub-to-suppliers

Knoppix Linux distro is already on the case, but its
meaningless if other windopws computers can
swiftly end up destroying a moved windopws disk.

The easiest way to get gun control is to get its owners
to go register IN PERSON their personal devices EVERY YEAR for $10.

It doesn't violate the right to bear arms.

Full ownership documents must be presented.
Full proof of ID must be presented.
No more than 2 devices can be registered per day
for personal use per person.

It doesn't violate the right to bear arms.

Devices left unregistered for more than 3 months
will need to be destroyed and can't be re-registered
unless exceptional circumstances apply.

It doesn't violate the right to bear arms.

All future guns must be manufactured to
have a 5 digit counter to indicate
how many rounds it has fired.

It doesn't violate the right to bear arms.

If the gun has been used between registrations,
an explanation must be given as to what it may
have been used for when re-registering.

It doesn't violate the right to bear arms.

If no explanations are given, or if gun
has been used one or more times, then
a fingerprint of a fired bullet is taken.

It doesn't violate the right to bear arms.

Damn, I'd be embarrassed to live in a monarchy in this day and age.
What the hell kind of sheep are you Brits anyway? You should revolt
and take control of your country. Oh wait... you are unarmed. Nevermind
then. :)

(a) he doesn't blame Linux

(b) he writes "The risk exists not only when Linux is installed on disk
in parallel, it also arises with any other type of access such as that
from the Windows-7-based Windows PE 3.0 or from recovery systems that

Troll!!!

The title of the story is:

"Linux and Windows 8: Fast Startup puts data at risk"

Which part of that doesn't sound like he is trying
to scotch Linux for something the troll does not understand?

Eh?

You are quoting a fsckwit that is a FCSKING IDIOT!!

That quote there is wrong as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Windopws 8 Piles (TM) cannot cope with the error either, if there
are removable drives and you start swapping drives around.

Why blame windopws 7?

So the title should have read:

"Winduh 8 Piles (TM) CANNOT do a safe fast shutdown and fast boot"

Then IT admins everywhere can sit up and take notes.

He doesn't. It's clearly presented as something to watch out for when
using W8.

Or alternatively "Windows 8 has a fast shutdown and reboot mode which is
safe to use if you do not change or access the hardware in the interim".

As a matter of interest, how well does Linux cope if you hibernate to
disk and then change significant parts of the system before attempting
to restart?

Fake numbers!!!!

Wrong again troll, that includes many other items including civil war
and near civil war to intentionally bump up the numbers and divert attention
from regions where the gun violence is solely around gun ownership.

This is about gun control:

America is still the Murder capital of the whole world.

America = 14,748
compared to similar country United Kingdom = 722.
Even if you could multiply out 57 million to match
US population by say x 5.5, you still got, only
about 5000.

Murder rates are still x3 in USA than comparable country like UK.

USA is still the Murder Capital of the world!!!!

Why don't you try it?

Me?

I yank disks out and power cables out so long as its not flashing
if I'm in a hurry, though I would not recommend it as general advise and
though I never ever had a problem, I never had valuable data in those
disks either.

Actually it does. unless the "device" is registered, you're not allowed to
own it. That is what you are saying.

Could lead to a violation of the 5th amendment's clause, "right to not
incriminate myself".

Actually it doesn't because nothing to stop you

How does explaining legal use of a gun lead to incriminating
yourself? After all, when you wire money abroad, you have
to give a reason! Is that incriminating yourself?

There is a skill to writing clear, comprehensible and unbiased posts.
I may be an amateur at it, but you don't have it at all.
If you are a troll, just leave this newsgroup - it already has enough
shitposters without you.
If you are not, I suggest you temper your fanboyism and Microsoft hate
with better writing skills, and critical reading of articles before you
react to them.

It is my general experience that those who display one considerable
talent generally display another one too. Physics and playing the
guitar, say, or mathematics and cooking, or welding and flower arranging.

In a similar way, people who are crackpots in one field are generally
crackpots in other fields too. For example, when did you ever hear
someone say "I believe in reflexology, but homeopathy is a load of
nonsense"?
