60s not big Steve. Believe me ;-)
Hi there, good to see (read) you. My only forays into public transport
are occasional joyrides on the railways. I lost faith in buses when, with
my knee at its height of not-walking-very-farness, I waited three hours
for a bus that never came and had to get a taxi home at a cost of 25 of
your English pounds. Bummer.
Five grandkids seems far too many to me but from what I've seen, you
grandparent types seem to love the idea. So congrats. Not that you did
anything.
How am I? You've probably read that I had a new knee fitted last year so
in many respects I'm way better than I was. I was horrified to learn from
my GP that asbestos *had* got me after all, but it's not going to kill
me, just slow me down a bit.
Other than that life, goes on. We moved 4.5 years ago into a bungalow
that needed 'doing' 100%. Figured it would take me a couple of years. And
I'm still at it. Didn't expect the knee to go as bad, as quickly as it
did. But I'm down to just the one bedroom left to makeover and there's no
panic on that. Or so I'm told. ;-)
I'm still cleaning windows and riding my motorbike, but not at the same
time.
If (when?) you move out of London, you should try Hampshire. Some nice
pubs down here and a couple of old farts to get pissed with.
