My name is [Rabbi] Ner Bresler. My grandmother, Chana Roisa Rosenboim Bresler was born in Bolomow, Poland. Her parents, Yosef Rosenboim and Fraida Zyk died when she was a baby and she was brought up by her grandparents, Hershel and Rochel [Berman] Zyk who managed a dairy farm for the Poretz in Lowicz, Poland. Chana Roisa grew up on the farm together with her mothers sister  Hendel and her mothers  4 brothers, Moishe, Yossel, Yitzcock and Yisroel Zyk. Though most of the family continued living in Lowicz one of her mothers brothers Yisroel Zyk moved to Zychlin where he raised his family and became a milk and cheese salesman in Zychlin and in  the nearby town of Gombin. My grandmother Chana Roisa moved to Detroit, Michigan in 1920 but most of the Zyks and their children and grandchildren died in the Holocaust. However, 2 of Yisroel Zyks children who grew up in Zychlin managed to escape Poland before the Holocaust and moved to Montreal Canada and Tel Aviv Israel. Their children and great-grandchildren currently live in Montreal, Israel and the USA.
