It was my father who bornd and lived in Zychlin.
All his family was there, his parents, brothers and sisters. I think
they were nine of them. My father and one of his brothers run away to
Rasha but only my father survived. After the ww2 he came back to
Poland, to Zychlin, to look for others from the family but no one came
back from that war. My father name was Yehoshua (Sasha) Kuvent
. He was a barber in Zychlin before the war and then in Tel- Aviv.

By the way, someone here wrote about Amos Zamir (the ex- juge)and I
wanted to tell you that we know him very well.

How are you conected to Zychlin? where are you from?

Amos Zamir is the son of my Grandfather's second wife, Rivka Kanarek. My
grandfather, Max Kanarek, came from Zychlin. When my grandfather married
his cousin's widow, Rivka, they moved to Haifa. My family would visit
often and became close with Amos (and Tamar who passed away). Amos also
has a sister Ruti who is married Chaim Krucel. How do you know Amos?

Amos Zamir is my mother's second cousin. She haven't see him for average 45
years.
My grand father was born and leaved in Zichlin. He was first cousin with
Amos mother. He goes away from Poland in 1916. Alone. His parents,
brothers and sisters stays there. They were very frum and for them to leave
abroad means spiritual "yerida".

So, you are the head of the Zychlin Society in Israel, which was previously
established in 88 rechov Bugrashev and whose president was Moshe Zyslender. Am I
right ?

Do you know Hershl Kuwent who was tailor before WWII in Zychlin and was married
to Bina. Bina was my father's aunt. Bina died during the war. Hershl and my
father survived the ware and went to France. Hershl remarried to Berthe and they
had two children Beatrice and Roger ? Do all these names mean something to you ?

Toda raba for your answer.

My father knew Amos Zamir and used to told us that there is some
family conection between his family and ours. I don't know how but as
a young child I remember us seeing him from time to time. My father's
family, the Kuvents, were well known in Zychlin. They were a big
family and had a high positions in the city before the Germans came
in.
On the other side, my wife also knew Amos Zamir, and his son but
nothing to do with Zychlin. When she was young, she lived with her
parents in Givataim, near Tel- Aviv and Amos with his family lived in
the sreet near by. His son was a good freind of my wife's brother,
they learnd tugether at school and Amos's son used to visit my brother
in law at their home. Later on, he got merried to an actor (they got
divorce several years ago) and I think they still had a connection
with my brother in law . What a small world!

Any way, now days I only has a conection with the people of Zichlin or
their families thrue our organization in Tel- aviv.We have a house
there and we meat there once a year, making memorial ceramony for our
dead and than talk about things we're doing or planning to do for the
people and the memory.
You didn't tell me were are you from?

As you are the President of the Zychlin Society, I can tell you that my father
put the name of our family on the memorial.

My father is Henryk (Hershl) Wrobel 17 rue Condorcet 75009 Paris, France. We
were close friends of Moshe Zyslender who offered us 3 paintings and 1 drawing.
He was a passionnate of paintings and I brought him to museums in Paris when he
visited us.

Next time we'll be there, we'll look for your family name. maybe we'll take a picture of it to show it to you if you want.

It is a long that I haven't seen Roger. My mother is in contact with Beatrice
his sister. Hershl Kuwent had no family in France on his side, except his nephew
by his first wife, my father, so when I was a little girl, the aunts, uncles and
cousins gather on Sundays including the Kuwent. Times went by. Roger joined the
Israel Army and lost his eye in 1971 and since this time I met him only once.
Hershl passed away in 1987 from a cancer which began behind one eye !!

As I already told the Zychlin google group, I know (knew) a lot of Zychliners,
Gambiners, Kutno(ers) in New York, Paris, Israel and Hanover. My father knew
most of the families of the members in this group and I visited Zychlin twice in
1967 and 1995. You may refer to the different previous discussions in the group.

For more than one year my father is hospitalised at home, so we cannot go to
Israel and I would be very happy if you can take a picture.

My father is also Vice-Presidet of the Lodz-Katzenelson Society in Paris and the
problem is the same. Less and less people getting older and older. The second
generation is coming to the Society, like my brother, sister-in-law and me but
we are still very few.

Best regards.
