As far as I know it doesn't work with those browsers for whatever reason. They don't trigger third-party app intents.

Thanks Sean for your prompt reply. Is there any way or workaround to make it work in this two browser ?

I have developed web based application which call zxing application from default browser of Android based tablet, but when i try to use same application with Firefox and Opera Mini browser its not working. Do we have to use different request URL like we have different url for iPhone/ iPod. Please some one help me as its very important for me to allow calling zxing in mulitple browsers. If anyone know other then Android default browser zxing work with any other Android browser then also please let me know

I also noticed that this type

http://zxing.appspot.com/scan?ret=http://foo.com/products/{CODE}/description&SCAN_FORMATS=UPC_A,EAN_13

did not work on these browser with my Galaxy Tab 10.1.
but this type of link is working for me now.

zxing://scan/?ret=http://foo.com/products/{CODE}/description&SCAN_FORMATS=UPC_A,EAN_13

I think this works because the browsers don't know how to goto zxing:// so they ask the Android OS for an application to view it.

One thing to note is that on Firefox a popup asks you to confirm that you want to open an application.
By the way, I also am developing a web based application.  If you use the Dolphin Browser then the url call back wont open a new window / tab.  I also have a code fix that I hope to get approved that would prevent new windows from opening with the default browser as well.

Good luck,

Bryan

I actually have a Galaxy Note 10.1. The Galaxy Note has a better camera than the Galaxy Tab 10.1.  We returned the Galaxy Tab we purchase because it was unable to scan barcodes.
