What we don't encourage is copying and pasting our app -- integrating the project into *your* app is just fine.
However, this is not a forum for debugging your app, and as you have already identified the error is unrelated to the project. Did you read your log?
Caused by: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com.google.zxing.ResultMetadataType
