Can conversion of text to QR code support formatting of text such as bold, italic or underline

QR codes conceptually encode text only. You can put whatever you want in a QR code, including maybe RTF-encoded data, but only a reader that expected to parse RTF would do anything with it, and nothing except a custom built reader would.
