Language & Translation: The workshop will be in English, but there will be a translation to French by a fluent French speaker for anyone who wishes.

Accommodation!

  • Hotels: Pantin has several hotels nearby that you can book

  • Camping: We will also offer participants who stay for 2 or more days the option to "camp" in our new I Liq Chuan Paris training center and soon to be home (so new it will not yet have any furniture!).

    • We plan to offer a basic futon mattress and pillow, with sheet and pillow; so please bring a sleeping bag if you select this in the registration form.

    • We expect there will be running water, a cooker in the shared kitchen living room area, a shared fridge, heating, hot water, two working toilets and two working showers, and electricity (but probably no wifi).

    • Note that this is being offered to make training more affordable and accessible to more people, but it is not a hotel or bed and breakfast; it will be very basic! (you will be responsible for your food).

    • The space will be shared, depending how many people choose this option.

    • You may arrive as early as Thu 24th Sep and leave as late as Tue 27th Sep.

    • It is expected you will clean and leave a donation according to your means to say thanks.

Etiquette & bylaws for the training

Being filmed: Parts of the workshop may be filmed or photographed by the organisers; please let me know if you would like to be removed from any photos or videos that are published. You may still be in shots and videos that are taken by the photographer, but we will make sure these are not used in any public materials.

Filming: filming of the workshop by participants is not allowed. If you would like to see video materials of this art, please register online and you can see the larger video library, or if you are a member you can already see the member's videos

What to wear & personal hygiene:  We have to work quite closely together, and sometimes the training makes us sweat, so please wear clean clothes each day, and use deodorant. :)  Also, If you have a uniform, please wear it; and if not, you can wear  comfortable clothes you can move in.

Instruction & Feedback: Carefully listening to the I Liq Chuan instructions are a key part of the training process, as is practicing beginner's mind. Please refrain from giving additional instructions, even if you are an experienced martial artist; if something doesn't seem right about the partner training, please raise your hand and ask the visiting instructor to clarify. If you want feedback, you ask if the partner would like some, but it is always fine to tell a partner eager to share feedback: "no thank you, I'm concentrating on following the instructions at the moment,  but if there's a question about the instructions, let's ask the visiting instructor."

Passbook: If you are a member, you bring your passbook to have your participation noted and signed.

More I Liq Chuan!

Membership reminder (https://www.iliqchuan.com/): I organize 3 or 4 workshops a year in Paris, and there are many more globally; so if you are thinking about joining more than one event, membership may make it cheaper for you, and you'll get the benefits of the online video library, and option to join the weekly Saturday 8pm online class too. Also, as a member, you can grade in the system, which is like a very long, detailed private class with detailed personal feedback on every exercise.

For more information on weekly classes and I Liq Chuan in Paris, see zxd.fr, or join the google mailing list zxd-paris-announce.

Finally, I am looking forward to seeing you there, and please share the word as it's your support that makes these incredible international seminars happen. :)

:)

It'll be wonderful to see you! You can register with this form. We haven't moved yet, but we will be doing so, we get keys on the 11th of Sep; we'll have the workshop, try and quickly sell our current apartment, do some work to the new place, and then move!  But this will be first workshop at the new place, and I'm quite excited about it!

I'll be taking family for vacation in mexico 11-19 July, probably need a week or more somewhere else, otherwise sweating in Paris and working. The week right after 19 July, kids and dinara will be at beach while I work, so I'll have a little extra training time then in case your interested?

I probably should get an appointment with you anyway sometime actually, I think I have a slightly off-aligned ligament or something on left foot...

More soon friend!

Hi Lucas.
I love seeing Sam as well. I'll do my best to be there at least some of the time. You must have moved, you talked about it. This will be the inauguration of your new dojo? That's great. What are your plans this summer? Mark
