Fellow Alumni,
I currently have in my collection of ZX memorabalia, what appears to
be an antique copper, silver-coated teapot. I don't recall how I ended
up with it or where it came from and am hoping you can help.
I know it was never used during my 4 years at Baker (80 - 84) but it
certainly looks like it was part of a rather important and possibly
expensive tea set during previous eras. Its in great condition.
I'm planning to take into a local silversmith to have it cleaned up,
polished and appraised (no, I'm not planning to sell it). Before I do
that, I was hoping to get additional history of this rather majestic
piece of ZX history.
I have a good picture of the silver teapot and the silversmith's mark.
Since it doesn't seem like I can attach pictures to this post, if you
would like to see the pictures, I'd be happy to send them to you via
an attachment to an email.
Does anyone recall using such a fine piece of silver during formal
banquets or ceremonies during their years at Zeta Chi?
Mike Ellis, 84'
