Zero Waste Week & Forum Program
Join Race to Zero Waste (R20W) and partners for the 2nd annual global Zero Waste Forum, taking place at the Anne Kolb Nature Center, which will take place from March 30th to April 2, 2025. Hosted by Race to Zero Waste (R20W), this event program is an opportunity to collaborate and network with local, national, and global zero waste practitioners. The event program builds on conversations around the International Day of Zero Waste, which has been declared by the United Nations Environment Department as March 30th. Zero Waste Week will feature engaging workshops, networking, a beach cleanup, an award ceremony, sustainability tours, and expert speakers.
Specifically, the Zero Waste Forum is expected to host 75-100 attendees and will include: TRUE Zero Waste Workshop, a policy advocate breakout session, esteemed international speakers, local Broward County zero waste businesses and organizations, and thought-provoking discussions on the progress of the zero waste movement. The hybrid format allows online participation, ensuring accessibility for all. The Zero Waste Forum is an extension of R20W’s mission to foster discussions that build an equitable and accessible circular economy. The Zero Waste Forum is a platform to discuss and address the challenges of the future, highlight zero waste principles, bringing together diverse voices for conversations on equity, accessibility, and environmental impact.
Suggested agenda item for the Race to Zero Waste Forum. Check out M-PESO for a way of monetising – or valuing – collaborative endeavour. It’s amazing and very very powerful. It undermines established power routes = like banking and top down control.
If – somehow- the ideas of “getting to zero waste” (REALLY GETTING THERE) and empowering individual action via M-PESO style actions can be enabled – and there are plenty of bright people out there that can enable that ( the capital outlay is negligible) then we may have a chance for the 7.99 billion of us to finally get a voice through action and change the trajectory of this human species juggernaut that seems so determined to make itself history.
Just a thought – but a thought that – like zero waste itself – needs to go viral.
Regards – and good luck.
