I'm reaching out to invite you all to a fundraiser event PLAN is hosting this Saturday Aug 14th 5-6:30pm ET to support our upcoming Students for Zero Waste Conference. Join on Facebook live for a variety show style event featuring: 

• The Co-ED's, Faye and Ciara, giving an update on the impact we have made this year (and trying our hands at a bit of comedy!)
• Zero Waste themed drag performances by former staff member Chris Kane (aka Fran Zea)
• Testimonials from past attendees of SZW about how the experience impacted them
• Reflections from Board members about how PLAN's work is building a lasting movement for impactful change

We're raising funds this weekend to make the SZW Conference FREE to member campus students!

Join the Post-Landfill Action Network for our Students for Zero Waste Variety Show Fundraiser! Leading up to the 2021 SZW Conference, PLAN is looking to raise funds to help us prioritize accessibility by offering FREE admission to all students at member campuses. Join us this weekend for a Variety Show Event! We are hosting a SZW Fundraising Event on Saturday, August 14 at 5pm EST. This variety show style event, streaming on Facebook Live, will feature PLAN staff, board, alumni, and more! Reconnect with previous conference attendees and watch our network host segments like a reboot of the Waste is a Drag Show. RSVP to the Fundraising Event Since 2014, the Students for Zero Waste (SZW) Conference has brought together students, staff, industry innovators, activists, and community members from across the country each Fall. SZW is BACK this year and will be held virtually this November 5-7. As we will be hosting the conference in a digital format this year, we are looking to connect a wider range of attendees, speakers, and projects than ever before. An important piece of this is our goal to offer FREE registration to all students on member campuses. We rely on our supportive network of donors and volunteers to help us prioritize accessibility to the SZW conference! What does this fund go towards? Your donations will help PLAN offer the following supports:  FREE attendance to the conference for all students at member campuses Sliding scale ticket costs (students are never turned away) ASL interpreters, captioning, and other digital accessibility services Decompression spaces and emotional and mental health support staff on call We hope you are able to make it!
