Melloware LightSwitch iOS App and zvs 8.0

Hi all,

I've just moved from 6.something to 8.0; everything went smoothly, but the iOS lightswitch app doesn't seem to work any more.  Any time a command is issued the LighSwitch plugin throws an error (EER_Cannot locate zvs command) and the app crashes.

Is this a plugin issue?  Is there anything I can do to get it working?

I am not able to reproduce.  

On your binary switch (device #6) take a look in ZVS and see if you have Values property with a label of BASIC.

I've done a fresh install  and still have the problem on any device (Although the scenes and zones work fine).

The devices all have a Basic (which toggle between 0 and 255 when set manually)

Seems like the lightswitch plugin is having trouble finding the Turn Off and Turn On commands for that device.  


Can you check to see if the device that doesn't work has these two device type commands?

Yes; they are both there, and the switch works from those buttons.  It also appears to be happening on my dimmer swich:

I had a look at the code here (I'm not a programmer; and I really don't know what's going on)...
 

 But I see that most of the calls seem to use 'FirstOrDefaultAsync' - whereas the command for the switch and dimmers use just FirstOrDefault

What's the difference?  Could it be causing my problems.

I am having the same issue with Lightswitch and ZVS 8.0.  So I don't think it is just affecting one person.  My lightswitch has a Basic value and the Turn On and Turn Off commands are present in the ZVS UI. I just can't get them to work through the Lightswitch Android app.  I still get the "Cannot locate zvs command" error.

Has anyone fixed this yet, or identified the problem?

I just upgraded from the last 7.X version and now my whole house is broken.

I gave up trying to get it to work and went back to 7.0.949 which seems to work for all I need it to do.

I upgraded as my 7.0.949 installation was apparently corrupted and wouldn't stay operational for more than a day or two before crashing.  I tried to wrap it up as a windows service, but that didn't work out.  

I eventually gave up trying to get 8 working as well and reinstalled 7.0.949 after deleting my previous database.  Restored from backup and re-configured things not captured in the backup :-S ...

I love the plugin architecture and simplicity of zvs... but, well... the current situation sucks a bit :-(
