I love zunzun

Decades ago I had time to program my hp48 for curve fitting, but lost a line of the code somewhere and i had to linear regression everything.

Then zunzun saved me.

i remember using zunzun for everything curve fitting related, then it was gone. I tried so many other sites, to no avail. Eventually i settled for writing some linear regression spreadsheets for myself, always lamenting the loss of the site.

Today i was looking for another site to try after giving up on the other methods and found you again, so I am overjoyed. I love the improvements to the website. wonderful.

Hey James, thanks for this awesome tool!

Just to let you know that I'm also overjoyed for finding out that zunzun.com is working again! I also used it a long time ago, and I missed it when it went "offline", specially the "Function Finder" functionality, I couldn't find this elsewhere. Today I tried accessing "zunzun.com" just for the sake of it, and wow! It is working again! :)

As for the Function Finders not being elsewhere, this requires two things: First, a large number of both linear *and* non-linear equations. Second, a method for finding initial parameter estimates for fitting the non-linear equations. In my case I spent many years collecting equations, and use a genetic algorithm named Differential Evolution to provide initial parameter estimates. With those two things in hand, all you have to do is build a web site around them with some plotting.
