Thaks for that help Steve, have downloaded Zulureader and all seems
fine. I have now tried to download a book I bought previously from
another site ( ebooks.com) and have have been told that I have to
download and activate microsoft ereader before I can download it. I
have been on their site, but cannot work out if the version I need is
the tablet version, or the mobile version - any ideas??
Thanks
Shammy

Hi Shammy,

If you look on the memory card that came with the device you should find the instalation CAB file for MS reader. Navigate to it and double tap to install, just like you did for ZR. The path to the file should be : Storage Card\Software\Installation Required\MS Reader\msreader_arm.cab

Activating MS Reader can be a frustrating process unfortunately, but you need to do it to download your eBooks.

Cheers and good luck,

Steve.

Thanks Steve, Looks like my reader has something missing, can follow
this path to the point of MS Reader, when I double click on this it
opens a blank page, cannot get to \msreader_arm.cab . Mobi Reader does
the same. There is a read me txt which states that the CAB files for
installation in these folders will not be visible from here, the
software needs to be installed from Windows CE desktop. I presume this
means that I ned to download it from the net to the windows CE?

Hi Shammy,

When you are on the home screen of the JE200 you should see the 'Storage Card' at the top of the screen and 'Windows CE' at the bottom. Click on 'Windows CE' to swith to Winodws CE mode. The JoinTech is very simple to navigate but to access the true multi-function capability of your device you need to run in Windows CE mode.

Once you have switched to CE mode double tap on the 'My Documents' icon, this will open the file explorer program which will give you full access and control of all the files on your device. You should now be able to see and run (double tap) the msreader.cab file.

Let me know how you go.

Cheers,

Steve.

Hi Steve, have done as said - CE mode actually stored in a folder
marked Extra on the Home page, opening Windows and opening my
documents brings up the Zulureader program, but no Microsoft reader
file to double tap! Would you suggest I download from Microsoft?

Hi Shammy,

You need to turn your device OFF and back on again. Then without the device going into sleep, go into CE mode and look on the storage card again. There is a bug in the factory firmware which, when the device is in CE mode and it goes to sleep, the JE200 can no longer see the storage card.

There is an update for the firmware on instructions on running it on this page of Jointech's site (http://www.jointech.com.hk/upgrade_je200.html).

Cheers,

Steve.

Hi Steve,
Have done as requested, still no ms reader anywhere! Even took the battery out to ensure it was totally shut down, and restarted. CE still only showing in the Extra folder, which is below the storage card on the home page. Do you suggest I download the update if I am not getting it at all??
Regards
Hayley

Hi Shammy,

The CE link will be inside the Extras folder unless you download and run the update. Very strange that you can't find the msreader cab file. I recommend you run the update though as there are a number of fixes included.

You can download the msreader install from here (http://www.jointech.com.hk/downloads.html). You will find all the reader softeware that should be on your memory card.

Cheers,

Steve.
