Hi Daniel,

Yes, I was very surprised as well to see that the car didn't meet the reserve. It's amazing how much these low-mileage Series I cars have been selling for recently.

This is so good, I've decided to restore my 72 240 because of this escalation of value. Can anyone recommend a shop for body and paint work? I live in Englewood and would like to work with a shop close by.

Thanks,

Rob Ficalora

Hi Rob,

There is a multitude of body & paint shops in the Englewood area off of Hampden Ave and between Broadway and Santé Fe Drive.

I have a good paint guy in Arvada, but he is really backed up on projects.

Good luck,

Steve

All,

I also have been thinking about getting body work and paint. So I took the Z around to several shops here in the Ft. Collins area, but did not get any estimates back from them.  I was finally told that most places only want to do collision repair on newer vehicles these days.  One shop said to try Ron Jones Garage in Windsor.  (https://ronjonesgarage.com/).  If you've ever been to the Petersen Automotive Museum in LA, then you have an idea of what this place is like.  Among several of the cars Ron has on display is an original Shelby 427 Cobra owned by a guy from Denver, worth $2.5 mil, he says.  Anyway, I did receive an estimate from Ron, but I can't justify spending $28,101 on my car.  Oh well.  If anyone knows of a less expensive shop, please let me know.  Thank.

The 240z Guild, Madill, Oklahoma.  They do fantastic work.

Really depends on what you're looking for.  If you want to bring it back to 100% original using NOS/OEM parts then use the Guild.

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a left side, passenger side, rear quarter panel, the whole thing, for a 1972 240z.
If anyone has any leads to where I might find this I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

Hi Rob

Not sure how far back you need but.. In case it helps. These are not factory accurate but I purchased them and used the dogleg portion with good success. I didn't need the wheel arches. The steel is very rust resistant. I was surprised how cheap they are. Just don't expect a factory stamping. Its something a body shop can work with. I had a body guy inspect them and he gave them thumbs up. They do not pack them well. My first set was bent in shipping but they replaced it with no charge. Good luck with your project!

Thanks Rob for the info,

I made a mistake, I'm looking for the right side rear quarter panel.

Thanks again,

Rob
