• strong tangible book value (no fluff accounting)
• substantial cash (mostly)
• substantial cash flow and free cash flow (mostly)
• strong upside/downside risk ratio (e.g., we are looking for a potential 150-300% stock price advance with a limited 10-20% potential decline)
• not paying dividend (mostly)
• stocks reacted positively on raised volume in the past (potential momentum stock)
• the price has been beaten down in the past, but shows positive trends more recently
• substantial insider ownership
• substantial institutional ownership
• not actively traded by day traders
• low analyst coverage (little known companies)
• low social media following / interest (little known companies)
• low volume (little known companies)
• low relative volume (no recent events, not actively traded by day traders)
• not a target of recent short selling campaigns
Long means positive number of shares and short means negative number of shares in portfolio. Do not confuse these financial terms with holding stocks for a long or short period of time.
