Are subtitles (part of the title after eg a colon) supposed to start with a capitalized word if that word is not a noun? I had taken my ideas on sentence casing from https://apastyle.apa.org/style-grammar-guidelines/capitalization/sentence-case (in which case the answer seems to be yes) but a test by one of BBTs users seems to indicate that it should be lowercase (https://github.com/retorquere/zotero-better-bibtex/issues/1978#issuecomment-963622807).

The user on your GitHub is exactly right: in Zotero, titles should be stored natural case after colon (i.e. lowercase except for proper nouns), and that's also how it should be in Vancouver. In APA, all subtitles start with a capital letter and Zotero has a list of styles hardcoded somewhere that follow that convention and implements it automatically for those.
