How many users does Zotero have?

I would be interested to know how many users does Zotero have and how many of those are using the Zotero file storage service? Also if there are any estimates or any data that could be used to make an estimate about how many Zotero users have an iPad (e.g. how often the Zotero site is accessed with iPad could be a proxy).

The reason for this is that I am having a call with the developers of iAnnotate early next week about the terms under which they would license the iAnnotate library to be used in ZotPad. For me an optimal case would be that the license fee they charged did not contain a fixed part, but was tied to the the sales of ZotPad. But to have any chance of getting this kind of license agreement, I would need to have an estimate about the size of the market that a "ZotPad Pro" powered by the iAnnotate library might address.

I understand if the developers of Zotero are not willing to disclose this information, but it never hurts to ask.

These numbers are way to low but maybe still somehow helpful: zotfile
reader had about 5000 downloads. These are all people that were
actively engaged in finding a solution for zotero/tablet (and
presumably mostly ipad) and willing to use a beta software for that.
Zotfile has much more downloads but there is no way to find out how
many use the tablet feature...

Well, I had the call and iAnnotate library is definitely not cheap, but not too expensive to be rejected outright. I wrote a small article about what a commercial library could be used for and started a poll about how much a version of ZotPad with iAnnotate library should cost and added a small poll about how much an iAnnotate powered version of ZotPad should cost.
