Is it permitted to call Zotero.PreferencePanes.register multiple times?

Is it permitted to call Zotero.PreferencePanes.register multiple times for the same pluginID? I am looking for ways to make the BBT prefs pane a bit less overwhelming, and sectioning seems one way to do this. Historically BBT had nested tab panes, but those don't work in the new prefs pane.

It is possible, though it is recommended to use [1] to register only one top level entry and the others as its children. You can navigate between panes using [2].

Sweet, thanks! Where would I call navigateToPane? Or would Zotero call that on my behalf?

You'll need to call it to enter the child panes yourself, from a button or something similar in your parent pane. There should be a return button to the top-left of the child pane already.
