My web trolling just turned up a post linux.debian.bugs.dist about a
renewed effort to package Zotero for Debian. I'm not sure if the
Debian dev who's taken it on reads zotero-dev, but interested parties
might want to follow that discussion and chip in as appropriate.

This might also address the concerns of a certain poster on the forums
who had expressed his dismay at the lack of Linux distribution
packaging for Zotero.

As a debian (ubuntu) user, I really don't understand this critique.
Zotero is a Firefox plugin, and FF has it's own package distribution
architecture: XPIs. So exactly what benefit is it to be able to do
"apt-get zotero"?
Granted, this does change for standalone.

Nevermind; the new thread is clearly about the latter. +1 for that effort.
