I invite anyone interested in extending or programming Zotero to check
out a post I wrote yesterday on my blog on how to use the Chickenfoot
Firefox extension (http://groups.csail.mit.edu/uid/chickenfoot/) to
interact with Zotero:

http://blog.dataunbound.com/2008/10/28/zotero-chickenfoot-intro/

Other than one earlier thread (http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/
3637/), I've seen little discussion of how Chickenfoot could be used
to interact with Zotero.

The post is the first in a series in which I plan to document how one
might learn how to program Zotero. Although I do not yet consider
myself to be an expert in understanding how Zotero works, I think that
you might still benefit from the approaches I take in figuring out how
to make sense of Zotero.

Comments and questions are welcome, especially ideas as to how to make
my posts clearer and more useful to you.

Hi Raymond,

Thank you for your exciting post. I am the person who asked the
question in Zotero forum (http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/3637)
that you have cited.

I have been using Zotero and Chickenfoot (CF) since then. Though my
tasks are simple automation of page modification and subsequent saving
as Zotero item/snapshot, the first time I used CF script for Zotero
automation, I was just awed by the power and wonders that Zotero and
Chickenfoot could bring in synergy. So, naturally, I am glad to see
your nice initiative. I support and appreciate the idea of using
Chickenfoot and Zotero together. Chickenfoot and Zotero collaboration
should be encouraged. It'll facilitate several innovation.

As said in my thank note to Dan Stillman in Zotero forum, I would like
to reiterate:
"Zotero and Chickenfoot are r/evolutionary tools/apps/frameworks that
has changed the way we collect information and read. I gratefully
appreciate all your great works and helps."

Hi pmbcan,

Thanks for your quick reply. Your initial post encouraged me to build
on the idea of using Chickenfoot to interact with Zotero. I will
follow up soon with another post on how to use CF to script Zotero in
various non-trivial ways.
