Downloading PDFs using api

Team,

Whenever I use the following url to download the files, I am not able to open the pdf files that got downloaded to my drive: 

https://api.zotero.org/users/<uid>/items/<zapi:key>/file?key=<authtoken>

It looks empty when I open it and also file size is different. Original file size is:  263kb

Imported file size from zotero to my local drive is: 462kb

I did the following steps for your reference:

1. added pdf file from my local drive to zotero by dragging it into zotero window. 

2. from my java program, using the above mentioned url downloaded the pdf to my local drive

3. Tried to open the file imported and noticed that it is empty and file size is not matching.

So what am I doing wrong?
