App IDs under wayland

Would it be possible to have zotero6, zoter7 and zotero beta have distinct Wayland App IDs under linux? For X11 I can use the --class argument to set the app class and thus correctly resolve the desktop file, but under wayland that option does not seem to exist.

Or at least for zotero and zotero-beta could have separate AppIDs? The other option to make sure zotero has an icon would be to to package both as 'zotero' but that would make side-by-side installs impossible, and that's something I actively use.
