https://www.zotero.org/download/client/manifests/release/updates-linux-x86_64.json returns

[ { "version": "7.0.27", "buildID": "20251016193620", "detailsURL": "https://www.zotero.org/support/7.0_changelog", "major": null }, { "version": "7.0.30", "buildID": "20251120211745", "detailsURL": "https://www.zotero.org/support/7.0_changelog", "major": null }, { "version": "7.0.31", "buildID": "20260112193250", "detailsURL": "https://www.zotero.org/support/7.0_changelog", "major": null }, { "version": "7.0.32", "buildID": "20260114201030", "detailsURL": "https://www.zotero.org/support/7.0_changelog", "major": null }, { "version": "8.0", "buildID": "20260121202211", "detailsURL": "https://www.zotero.org/support/8.0_changelog", "major": null } ]

Is 8.0 GA? This will cause zotero-deb to no longer contain zotero 7. I can mark zotero 7 as legacy and offer it as "zotero7" if so desired.

I am going to force the release version to 7 until I know what's up

Sorry, I forgot you were using that file. We prepared the builds and the manifests and have exclusions for managing the Z8 rollout. We can reconsider how we do that going forward, but once we're in the rapid-release cadence, there may not be a gap between building and deploying.

Z8 is currently available from the download page and available via manual update from within the app. We've pushed it out to some people via automatic updates, but it won't go out to everyone for a few days. Up to you, but I think it would be fine to offer Z8 to Z7 zotero-deb users now.

For now, we're also making Z7 available from the download page. Zotero 6 is no longer offered. We're really only offering Z7 because it supports Win7/8 and macOS <10.15, so I don't know that you need to offer it. There won't be any more Z7 updates.

Then everything is as it should be. 8 is up as zotero. I'm keeping zotero 7 packages for now as zotero 7, they will go away automatically when a few zotero 8 releases have gone out.
