to Zoom G9.2tt Patch Bank
Hey fella's.
I have just recieved my first g9.2tt. I'm not very handy when it comes
to electronics, so this is going to be very painful for everybody. I'm
not really sure how to create my own patch, do I have to build off one
of the preset's? When I connect my g9 to the computer can I plug my
guitar to the processor and sample/listen to the individual effect's
as well as the patch I'm trying to create? My understanding of this
processor is that I can create what I want but I don't see any "create
new patch" or "new file" button. Any help would much appreciated.

You need to spend some time with the manual to understand that this
thing is laid out in two main groups of presets factory presets A
and B and user presets U and u if i am not mistaken. if you purchased
the unit brand new then you should of gotten it with the same 100
patches in both the factory and user presets. 50 of which are
intended for amp use and the remaining 50 of which are duplicates
intended for use wit going direct with cabinet modulation and mic'ing
turned on. The reason it's laid out like this is you can't over write
the Factory presets but you can witht the user group ones. so pick a
preset edit it to your hearts content then press the save button. If
you are in th factory preset area when you started editing it will
bring you to bank 1 patch one in the user group select the bank and
patch position in the user group area and press save again to save it
there . If in the User group area already then it will give you the
first patch in whatever bank you are in slect the patch or bank
location you want to save it in and press save again. So there is no
empty patches for you to start creating in you just overwrite one of
the user group patches and it works the same way on the PC software
there isn't gonna be a file or create new patches .. browse the manual
for the editing software and you'll find out how to inport and export
the stuff and how to rename them as well.

Congrats
I am sure you will grow to appreciate this monster.

Yes You have to build off one of the presets.
Pick one you like, mess with it and press the Store/Swap button,
just below the window/LCD, select a place to put it, perhaps u2,
press save again.

U or u for User.

Go slow, look all over this site, get the client software to upload
and download from your PC. To record I use the audio out, not the USB
as that suits my mixer etc. There is an alternative bank of sounds
from Zoom and various people, so you will not be stuck for choice.

Seems daunting to start with but slowly the logic of the system
becomes second nature and real soon it is pretty easy.

Have fun.

yeah with you on the recording out. Considering he unit processes
stuff at 24bit/96khz it would of been nice if they let us send audio
out of the usb port at that resolution.

forgot to ask has anyone used the extra patches that zoom provided?
how are they .. do you have to over write user presets with tthem or
will it let you over write some of the original factory ones?

I have copied many (txt) patches from Giasso's site, I tried very few
and found a couple good ones, this is a good way to check others
patches out, I like the copy paste Idea that way you can keep all the
patches in a txt file. funny thing about the G9 is it wont let you
overwrite those factory presets as some (a lot to me) are worthless,
my Tonelab SE allows you to edit all of them, of course you can always
reload and or reset the factory patches.
Congrats on your G9 purchase it's a great unit and I'm sure you'll
grow to love it the more you get to know it.

I removed the link a long while back because I was getting "This site
may be an ATTACK site" ( or something similar ) so I didn't wont to
send any of the users here to that site, I have Vista now running
Kasperky A/V software, I searched "zoom g9 2tt patches" on google and
it's still there, I went to the site and did NOT get the same warning
as before. I don't know if this site can be trusted still but I have
gone their many times to copy the patches and paste them into a text
file for archive.
I will post as a txt file what I have got, there Are many I did not
archive but moved to a saved folder in my email as I didn't feel I was
that interested in trying them out.
I think what you find in the txt file will keep you quite busy though
if your into Metal as I am.
Here is a direct link but be warned of my past experience !.
http://giasso.s42.eatj.com/ZooM/home.jsp
if you find you trust the site then go ahead an bookmark it, Ias I
said, I still go there and no longer receive threat warnings, If you
do please post about it or send me an Email.
Look in "FILES" to find my Text file

Yeah i found it via a google search myself and is getting no warning
either. Haven't found anything useful yet seems to be a lot of
"artist" and "song" patches and i am more interested in things i can
use as an interesting starting point for my own stuff, but still
looking through it all.
