Hi, I downloaded the additional patch set from zoom, but i can't open
it due to its .xex file. can anyone suggest a way around this? I
searched, and downloaded one program that was supposed to find and
open the xex file, but it didn't work and I havent' seen anything
else--in a cursory search--that would open this. Any thoughts?
Thanks.
running windows 7 on a intel core 2 duo processor.

The Manual is not clear on this issue with the .xex file types, I was
(still am) lost when I went to load (or Import) this file, I believe
it has to be done through the editor. I have always used the .txt
files to copy and paste into the editor as it was simple to do, even
that though is not really covered in the manual I don't think.
I also believe it's not Windows 7 because of the issue I had trying to
figure the .xex files out.
If anyone know please post a tutorial or point to where in the
manual it tells you how to do this.

how do you copy the text into the editor?

well dang, ya gotta catch me when I can't get to my equipment so I'll
try and explain with out it by using editor only, ok in any of the
text files we have they all start and end the same. the patch below
is a patch I just got from Giasso's site. it begins with "G9EDpatch"
and ends with "}" to copy this to your windows clipboard you
highlight it from "G" to } (beginning to end), move your mouse over
the highlighted area RIGHT click and chose COPY from the drop-down
menu. now that it is copied and assuming you have the Editor open as
well as this page, you click the EDIT tab in the editor, and then
chose "Paste from clipboard"
IMPORTANT back up your files, you will also want to pick a file that
is currently in the editor to WRITE OVER if you are planning to save
it, ( I like to used the very last patch bank to test them ex. u9-5
RingMod) you have to open the "librarian" for this, in the Editor
chose the "Window" tab then chose Librarian.
By the way, you CAN edit these from any text editor before you paste
them into the G9 editor (Notepad, Wordpad, Word, etc...) you can
change any of the name as long as it is 8 characters or shorter inside
the { } 's, ex. { Hey You } = 7 characters, the space before and after
don't count. AND anything after the "//" can be changed, like "// This
patch was made by vince" can be changed to "// who the hell
cares !!!!" same with "// ** http://giasso.s42.eatj.com/ZooM/ ** "
could be "// Very nice Pink Floyd Patch for Hey You "
you can also edit the parameters but they must fall in the range of
what the G9 uses. the easier way to do that is used the Editor modules
to adjust everything, then save it again to have your newly tweaked
patch.
