Jazz Fusion Tone??

Hey, has anybody on this group programmed a tone that's identical/
similar to that signature tone of the 70's jazz fusion era?
Specifically like John Mclaughlin's Mahavishnu Orchestra, Al Di Meola
Elegant Gypsy or Return to Forever, Allan Holdsworth in the Tony
Williams Lifetime recordings or Allan's work on Jean Luc Ponty's
Enigmatic Ocean. Would love to see anyone's patches if this has been
done.
