Ifyou open an AutoCAD Mechanical drawing, delete and purge all objects then use KILLZOMBIES to clear the Mechanical proxy entities, seems good, then if you open this drawing in AutoCAD Mechanical again, the drawing cannot be saved anymore.
Not sure if this solved the problem as I had to take a few additional steps to finally get the civil xref to bind, but installing this did crash Autocad and it removed my customized toolbar. Is this a known issue, or did it happen because I installed it while Autocad was open?
I tried EVERYTHING to remove proxy graphics left over from Civil 3D exports and nothing worked. All the other processes were so involved, laborous, and complicated and didn't really solve the problem. ZombieKiller is a 2 click process that works so well. Problem solved.
Our company has been plagued with proxy entities for many years; they made their way into our templates, and have poisoned every project ever since. Nothing worked to remove them until I found this app. Works exactly as expected.
The dgnpurge didn't work because of these AcDbZombieObject, despite it is working on another computer and the same dwg file. With ZombieKiller the problem is solved. My only one remark is that I can't start script on multiple dwg files with the zombie killer because of the dialog box which appears and needs approval.
I have Zombie Killer installed for my ACAD MEP 2013. I love it. BUT.... When I use it and save the file, and then someone with ACAD Architecture 2012 attempts to open it, they get a FATAL ERROR. Help! This is causing a major issue with our production and deadlines! Thanks!
Wonderful plugin, hasn't let me down yet. When Purge and wblock fails, here comes Zombiekiller to the rescue. The name suits this plugin perfectly. This plugin combined with Xpurge turned a 74,000 KB drawing to 450 KB, like magic :-)
Are you tired of drawings from outside sources senselessly crashing your AutoCAD without warning? Here is the simple and easy fix to get rid of those pesky proxy zombies wandering aimlessly through your drawing database.
I'm having the same issue and I'm using ACAD LT 2017. I've tried what you suggested in this post and it causes an error and ACAD automatically closes (tried twice.) So that will not for me. And I've tried other suggestions from other post, such as trying to save as a DXF file and making the dwg. into a block. Attached is an image of what happens when I try to make the drawing into a block. Found out there is over 500 proxy objects, which most is what I need to keep. Is there way to edit all the proxy objects to allow for copying or making into a block? Any other suggestions on this topic is most appreciated.
Unfortunately, I tried the save as option and purge and that did not work, especially, since all the proxy items I need to keep, which is the majority of the drawing. As for the AECTOACAD command, I tried that as well and get a fatal error, which closes out ACAD (see image attached.)
So I opened one of your save as drawings and it still won't let me copy all the items from it to another drawing, which is back to my original issue. So if I can't edit the proxies that someone else has set up, it looks like I can't use these items in my drawing and will have to redrawn everything. Thanks for your help.
This is about as much as you will be able to do with Lt. I isolated all the proxy objects so they were the only things showing and then plotted that to pdf. I then set PROXYSHOW to 0 to turn them off and used the PDFIMPORT command to bring in the objects from the pdf. Not real user friendly but you can work with the items now.
What always has worked for me with drawings that have copy base point and write block issues, is to either run the most current year object enabler from autodesk all the way to the year you are using, or, find the awesome zombie killer app and run that command in the suspect drawing, and it will find and delete all proxies which then clears the drawing to work normally again.
at pendean: I have both Civil 3d and Carlson embedded with the Vanilla, or LT Autocad, and all can use this zombie killer lisp routine with no compatibility issues. Perhaps it is the Carlson side for my embedded that allows this, but regardless, the object enablers is the real fix for this issue with a bad clip board from these Object ARX placeholders that are created from older software, and its' relevancy still applies. Am I wrong?
@pendean I see. My CAD manager and the tech person have yet to upgrade that far, and I am still using 2020, 2019, and 2018 Autocad, with Carlson embedded for 2020. I wonder if 'Gilecad', can make such a command again. Do you know much about the creator of Zombie Killer by chance? Are they with AutoDesk?
Hi, when trying to edit a CAD file of a building sent by a client, I get a lot of errors when setting PROXYNOTICE=1. The end result is that I cannot COPYBASE the building layout to my CAD file to modify it for my purpose. I'm getting a lot of Missing Appliation errors for AeccvBase50, AeccLand50, AeccLand60, and AeccNetwork. The error suggests I go to the AutoCAD Object Enabler Assistant web page, but when I do, I see a lot of options and have no idea which option will resolve the issue. Nothing is prefixed with "Aecc" so I'm not sure which enabler to download. How can I search the enabler assistant by application name or some other convenient way to find the right enabler? Or can someone help just tell me where exactly to go? See attached error message.
This copy to clipboard failure is a huge issue where I work and no matter what we do, the issue comes up from the AECC Network130 or Ereact. This happens even in my own drawings where just opening it up another day somehow drags in an object it cannot interpret, thus, a proxy is born. What works very well is a third party LISP routine called Zombie Killer. This lisp, when it does find the correct proxy, immediately solves the issue even without having to save out the dwg. Honestly it is a strange issue that is difficult to find solutions to get resolved, I see many complain about it in some form, but never a definitive solution.
