I'm not sure what we are supposed to discuss on this list and the format
makes it incredibly hard to follow the discussions that have been
attempted. Any thoughts Bonnie, to moving it to Yahoo or L-Soft?

I cannot move it to Yahoo because Yahoo thinks I have a Yahoo account
(from years ago) and I do not know the password to the old Yahoo account
and although Yahoo knows this e-mail addess to send mail from lists to -
it tries to use my original e-mail address to contact me to tell me the
password when I try to do the "forgotten your password" thing. But if I
try to create a new Yahoo account it will not let me do it with my
bdal...@qis.net address because it knows that bdal...@qis.net is
associtated with the old account. I even sent them a real letter with
photocopies of my bills from when clark.net existed but no deal.

This has caused me to be permanently annoyed at yahoo.

It it that you do not like the threads being linked together. You can
start a new thread by either clicking new message from the web interface
or by sending a message to the list address that is not a reply to an
existing message.

When I set up Borzoi memories last fall the format worked for people.

I will see what I can do.

Google gives you a lot of space to store images which is one of the
reasons I chose it.

New to groups I found it a bit awkward getting around at first. OK with it
now after reading archives about one of Donna's dogs going to a friend in
Japan---It helped to get into the flow/format as there was continued
discussion about his health. I am on a racing list that is yahoo and it is
easier to keep up with the immediate conversation but this one is all right
too. Glad to have an informational site about pedigrees and lineage

In my mail program it come up saying "reply to list? y or n or a" if i say
"n" it composes a message with only the poster's address in the To: field.
if I say "y" it composes a message with only the list address in the "to"
field. If I say "a" it composes a message with the list address in one
reply field and the poster's address in the other reply (carbon copy)
field.

I am not sure of the exact order of the two reply fields as i almost
always choose either y or n.

I choose n for this message.

Think I will change it and paste ZoiPe...@googlegroups.com in the cc
si this message gets to the list also. Colleen will get two replies in
this case.

The purpose of the list is described in the welcome message and on the
page that you can see if you use the link in the column to the right
(from the web interface) that says Pages.

The purpose of the group is two fold. To allow people to discuss
Borzoi pedigrees and post information about Borzoi heritage and to
allow people to announce litters - giving ancestry information, etc.

The litter announcements should have [Litter Announcement] in the
subject line.

You are allowed and encouraged to boast about them and you can state
that they are for sale (or are not for sale) you don't have to pretend
that you don't want to place some of them in homes other than your
own.

I would encourage you to consider making a donation to support the
Borzoi Heritage website if you find this to be a helpful venue in
placing your pups in good homes.

I will start a topic thread called Litters if none of you start one
soon.

That could be the litter announcement thread.

Using the list.

The individual threads begin with the first post in the thread and
then you proceed through the thread. However there is a search field
gadget in the upper bar of the web interface just to the right of the
"Borzoi Pedigrees and Litters" title and if you type a word or phrase
into that gadget you will get a search results page with relevant
results. This works best if people are careful to start new topics
when a new topic starts and put that in the subject field of their e-
mail reply if the person is replying via e-mail and not a web
interface reply.
