Thank you Bonnie for forming this group. You probably have the most
extensive Borzoi pedigree database there is, so there is plenty of
information available. I am very bad about knowing/remembering
pedigrees and am in awe of people who can recite all the ancestors
behind their Borzoi, so I'm hoping that I will learn more and retain
more information this way.

Looking forward to discussions.

I really like when the breeder has the pedigree up for the pups with pictures of the ancestors. it helps me imagine what the grown pups will look like

You are welcome.

Before I made the pedigree database I was pretty good at remembering
pedigrees. Now after entering peds for some 40,000+ dogs I have to
look them up.

Eventually I would like to have a picture with each dog we could get a
picture for. Also I can set the pedigrees up to link to the owner's home
page .

The problem with the later idea is that there is a fair amount of labor
involved with appropriate linking and I could not offer it as a service
for no compensation.

The least effort is involved if people would register a domain name
because once you have a domain name registered with a registry such
as directnic (www.directnic.com) you can control how the name points at
your pages, so you can change hosts easily and not loose the
correctness of external links to your pages.

most borzoi people can register their kennel names by doing

kennelname-borzoi.com or .org or .info

care should be taken to use one of the better registrars as some of the
cheap ones can be hard to work with if you forget to change a contact
address when you change your internet service.
