Dear Zohar Dance Family,
It is with incredible sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved modern teacher and friend, Lisa Burnett. Lisa passed away early this morning surrounded by love.
Lisa had been with Zohar for over 40 years! She joined us in 1984 when we were located on California Avenue. Some of the students in class have been with us since that beginning. Words alone cannot express how Lisa touched each of us. I personally loved our morning talks on Saturday when it was just the two of us warming up and preparing to teach.
The wonderful family of dancers that took her class and have kept it going in her spirit have done an amazing job. As a studio director, I was not ready to “replace” Lisa and always hoped that she would walk through the door.
While there is great sadness in Lisa’s passing, I rejoice in the amazing dancers that make up Zohar and carry on the incredible legacy of the remarkable teachers that touched us so profoundly.
We miss you Lisa. Rest in peace.
