We hope everyone has been having a wonderful summer so far. Here is the latest update: 

ZOHAR DANCE PERFORMANCE #11
  • Saturday, July 12, 2025
  • Doors Open at 7:30pm and Show begins at 8:00pm
  • Come and support our local professional dancers. This will be a mixed program of: Ballet, Contemporary, Tap, World Dance and so much more. It is always a wonderful evening of dance and we appreciate you supporting our artists.

BALLET with AUGUSTO
  • Augusto will be out of town; however, we have some truly wonderful teachers filling in for Guto. 
  • Monday, July 14/ Friday, July 18/ Monday, July 21 - Anton Pankevitch will be teaching. Bio: Anton Pankevich received his ballet training at Vaganova Ballet Academy in Russia and later on went to study at School of American Ballet and San Francisco Ballet School. Has danced with New York City Ballet, Dutch National Ballet, Royal Ballet of London, Pacific Northwest Ballet and Ballet San Jose. Has worked as a ballet master and a guest teachers with: English National Ballet, National Ballet of Canada, Wiesbaden Ballet, Stuttgart Ballet and Leipzig Ballet.

BALLET with KRISTINE 
  • Tuesday, July 15 
  • Travis Love will be teaching. Bio: Travis has been sharing his passion for the performing arts with students for the past twenty years. In addition to his Masters in Education, Dance Teaching degree from the Royal Academy of Dance, Travis holds his Licentiate Certificate (LCCA) from the Cecchetti Council of America. In the beginning of his performance career, Travis danced professionally with regional ballet and modern companies in Pennsylvania, rising up to soloist roles in productions such as The Nutcracker, Cinderella, and Hansel and Gretel. He then transitioned into Musical Theater: Wizard of Oz, Guys and Dolls, Legally Blonde, and Hello Dolly. Choreography credits include: Heathers, Little Women, Music Man, and Anything Goes. While his performance experience is vast both in repertoire and style, his love for teaching has always been at the forefront of his dance experience. Travis is the former director of the dance programs at Linden Hall, the nation's oldest all girls college prep school. Additionally, Travis has also served as the Artistic Director and Founder of Footprints Performing Arts, as a Member at Large and Conference Administrator for the Cecchetti East Coast Board of Directors, and choreographer in residence at La Salle University in addition to other schools. He is continually inspired by his students, peers, and the beautiful ever-changing language of dance.
  • Brooke Wertwijn will be teaching for the rest of Kristine Elliott's classes. We know a lot of you know Brooke; however, for those who are new here is her bio: she graduated from the University of Utah School of Dance with a B.F.A. in Ballet, Ballet Studio Teaching Certificate, and Business Minor. Brooke was a member of SALT Contemporary Dance’s Pre-Professional Training Company directed by Courtney Mazeika and a Trainee at Ballet Idaho. She was a Company Artist with San Jose Dance Theatre for the 2022-2024 seasons and was the Academy Director in 2024. She choreographed and directed a brand-new, full-length production of The Little Mermaid and co-directed the 59th Annual San Jose Nutcracker. She has performed internationally in the Czech Republic, South Korea, and Italy. Brooke has taught at schools in Minnesota, Utah, Idaho, and California. She is an ABT® Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 3 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum. Her choreography has been presented at the Minnesota Fringe Festival, Cathedral Dance Festival, American College Dance Association’s Northwest Conference, SHAPE Choreography Festival, University of Utah Ballet Showcase, and The Ballet Alliance Festival.

FROM CITY OF PALO ALTO
  • Temporary Fire Station No. 4 Now Open at Cubberley

    We are pleased to share that the Temporary Fire Station No. 4 at Cubberley Community Center is now complete, and the Palo Alto Fire Department is scheduled to move in early this week. This temporary station will serve as the Fire Department’s home for up to the next two years, while construction is underway for the new station at 3600 Middlefield Road.

    What to Expect at the Cubberley Site:

    ·         The station will house a fire truck and an ambulance.

    ·         It will operate 24/7, providing emergency services to the community.

    Important Reminders for Tenants and Community:
     To ensure the safety and effective operations, the Fire Department kindly asks everyone on site to:

    ·         Be cautious of Fire Department activity on and around the premises.

    ·         Observe and follow all designated traffic markings and signage, which are essential for safe and timely emergency responses.

    ·         Always yield the right-of-way to emergency vehicles when they are entering, exiting, or maneuvering around the facility. Please follow any directions given by the crew if necessary.

    We appreciate your cooperation and support as the Fire Department begins operations at Cubberley. Your awareness and assistance will help ensure their ability to serve the community safely and effectively.
