I am very pleased to announce that both my long and my short talk were accepted at the PyData Global conference.
The long talk is
“The Big Benefits of Small Data”
The short talk is a video about the website I built. It is a data
model of the United States Green Party. At first it looks like a map.
From the ZODB perspective, I started with Cromlech. It is a user interface library
built by Souheil Chelfouh. It uses both Pyramid's Venutian and Zope.Interface.
On top of that I built the ForestWiki.com. It is a first cousin to Plone. And on top of that I built a hierarchical model of the US Green Party.
National Party + Map -> State Parties -> Local Parties -> Politicians.
Of course the hierarchical model is a lot richer than that, and there are a lot of different content types.
And now the word is that the application will be hosted on the US Green Party website this fall, so it will be around for a while.
The ZODB and Cromlech make for a wonderful developer platform.
I am always surprised that more people are not using them.
