| Hi! : ) If some of you would like to be more into a "daily" exchange and helping each others around the guidelines and other issues that might come up during transcriptions or proofreading, consider subscribing to the LT sub-forum. If you do so, every forum post will be notified to you by email and when those posts are from someone asking the groups opinion/help concerning a specific issue in a specific video project, you will be able to correspond. This would be the ideal situation, as I see it, for the group to work together. Anyone is able to know, or at least have an idea, of whats going on and what barriers the member "x" is facing with the video "y" that he/she is working on; enabling a transfer of knowledge between projects and members ; ) In attachment to this email, there is an image of the LT sub-forum entry page, signalizing where to click to subscribe. An extra: The new forum that Ray/Gman presented to us last week is really a cake!! : ) We will transfer our activities to it when we fell ready. This forum subscription is one more reason for everyone to be ready and fully aware of the forum movements by the time we transfer projects to the new forum. Then, we unsubscribe from this one and thats it ; ) I will let you know when. I hope this was helpful : ) hugs, rodrigo (nomada) Skype username: azoreno ZM Linguistic Team - English Dep't Uppsala, Sweden We can only unify the World into a Resource Based Economy if we translate the message into all languages or teach everyone the same idiom. Thanks for the tip, Rodrigo! I subscribed! :-) Also, I thought I might help Jason get started with a little Eng proofreading. If he and his wife would like to work on the Orientation Video, I think it would be a nice place for him to begin...hm, especially since I've been working on the Glossary and haven't had a chance to get back to it. ;-) What do you think are good first steps for him? I sent him the link to introduce himself on Google groups. |
It sounds like a great idea! : ) Nice that you subscribed to the forum. It will give you a wide vision of whats going on and your feedback will be very helpful there : ) hugs |

| Hi Vixi and Di : ) The OP is on our priority list. But surely when a new guide will be out, then THAT will be our priority!! And of course if the OP wont be done by then, it will be a bit forgotten. But we can do it here and there until its done. But there is another point that I noticed when we stepped back a bit for the whole picture, on a chat with Bruno: despite tat the Wiki says that those videos in the "Translations in Progress" tab are not translated yet, actually the French team has done it all already. They have nothing to translate!! And maybe Vixi can tell better but I think the Spanish team is in similar situation. And these are the moments when translators with nothing to do start working on their own videos and organizing in parallel Ling.Teams. So, I wonder if we should focus more into the "Pending Review" projects that are in the "Proofreading in Prog" tab, so we would pass them to the next level "Translations" ?? I think most of those videos "Pending Review" are almost perfect. It is just a matter of watching them very carefully and take notes whenever there is a situation to correct. And later, open the transcription and apply them. It might be enough for a Final Review method, no? I am just throwing stuff at you here; I am sure you will know better than me how it would be best : ) hugs, |

| It sounds great!! And maybe, since we are moving forum location, we should review the sticky threads - which we need, which we can leave behind and which are important to create in the new forum - in a way that the "entry door" of the forum would help most of the needs and be clear enough for the newcomers. Maybe that could be a place to put tutorials also? |

| Ok. So the "Pending review" items in the "Proofreading in Prog." tab can wait? People don't want to meet in groups to proofread the spanish translations? They are full of cookies already? : / Change the strategy to 2 rounds of proofreading + a final review, like we do in the english team, maybe!? |
|
| Absolutely!! We should never jump that step! After so much focus into creating a Final review Team... it wouldn't make sense : ) Well, if the team is busy with other stuff, leave it for later ; ) The French Team probably has to put all they have into proofreading, if they have it all translated already. Oh, I love these teams!!! : ) |

Hi Di! Vixi replied on this subject and explained that the spanish team is in big need not for material to be translated but into build proofreading teams. The French team also, seems so. So I guess my worry about having nothing for them to translate was a false alarme ![]() We can leave cloning for a last resource when things get really bad : ) I will continue on dotsub timeshifting too ; ) |
