You need to click on the super mini (edit) button at the end of the menu, which will allow you to edit the template for the menu.

Or you can click here : http://wiki.zmlingteam.org/w/Template:LinguisticTeamNavigationMenu

I suppose that the point of the operation is also to remove the second menu ? I don't think it belongs there, which is why I haven't added it there in the first place :).

wat? this one?

Global Linguistic TeamLinguistic Team GuidelinesOur Methodology | English Language Guidelines | Glossary(edit)

this one is very well where it is

BUT, i don't see any link to Linguistic Team Guidelines from anywhere outside the guideline pages,
so, pending better location, I'm adding it to the
LinguisticTeamNavigationMenu

I don't think it belongs there, which is why I haven't added it there in the first place :).

oh, and now, with it added, we can remove the LinguisticTeamNavigationMenu from the Linguistic Team Guidelines page :)

Hi, Dario,

I don't know the need for the change... in your new navigation menu you left out stuff from the earlier one. Why not just take the one we had, and simply add whatever new things you wanted to add? instead of creating a new one?

I didn't create a new navigation menu, there already existed 4.
I didn't delete anything from each of them, just added some.

Take a stroll through the wiki, Nick. If you want to find something and it's not in the actual menu, just "step back" into the Global Linguistic Team

It's a tree now. The root is Global Linguistic Team , and there are 3 branches:
Linguistic Team Guidelines ;
Media Center ;
LingTeam Development ;
and many leaves. Many leaves in the root, and many leaves on each of the branches.
Now, when we are in each of the branches we only see the root, the branch and it's respective leaves; so that you can always go back and find everything else, but aren't visualy overwhelmed by all the links present in everypage

Dario, thanks, my mistake. I saw your name in the various histories... and then I saw some comments here in the GG, and thought you were the author... and that you added stuff, so I also assumed you used it in a page.... where the old one would do just fine!

I think for the Ling Team work itself, we really don't need anymore than one navigation menu. The one for

Template:LTDevNavMenu

is probably OK. I don't know what it does yet...

My suggestion is that we keep with this one that Gman created:

Template:LinguisticTeamNavigationMenu

and do away with this one:

GuidelinesNavigationMenu

which as far as I can tell, only appears on the Linguistic Team Guidelines Page... (Maybe others... didn't look for it in other places.
We can take whatever links are in this menu, and add it to the LinguisticTeamNavigationMenu.

Nick

Dear "?"???

The problem arises from this email and "FROM" lines with Traducao, and another from Dario, which would make one thing confusing... that they are two different people. Then, the Traducao emails are also signed by Dario WurmD...

In the email below this statement is made:

BUT, i don't see any link to Linguistic Team Guidelines from anywhere outside the guideline pages, so, pending better location, I'm adding it to the LinguisticTeamNavigationMenu

which is probably the best thing to have done to deal with the problem.

The rest is confusions from ever-shifting conventions in communication...

Cheers, Nick

Nick,
We suspect that Dario may have a dual-personality. :p

Dario,
Most of those information pages (all of the ones that I added) included the
Media Center nav bar because I strongly suspect that most people would want
to go directly to a specific page within the Media Center from those info
pages, rather than first have to 'know' that the Media Center is where they
might find them and then have to click twice to get there. The idea was,
and still is, to make it very, very easy for people to find what they are
looking for, regardless of how well they know (or how new they are to) the
LingTeam wiki. The new layout of the main Wiki menu system almost makes the
nav bars obsolete, but I want to give more time for members to become
accustomed to looking 'up there' before taking them away. To this end, we
do need to add a Cmbox or similar to each page where the nav bars 'will' be
removed and leave that up for perhaps a month to give even semi-frequent
visitors a chance to realize what is happening.

In addition to our now complete access to the wiki's main menu system, there
are some new toys being assembled (or being planned for near-development)
that should allow us to reorganize nearly ALL of our info in a much better
flow, especially for newer members. Once that happens, it will finally make
full sense to remove all of these "training wheels". :)

Warm Regards,
Ray (Gman)
