Hi! : ) Roxanne has recently mentioned that she is currently promoting the Designing the Future PDF to some important research facilities and would like to include as many translations as possible. She is already receiving very positive feedback concerning the English version, but this limits her 'reach' to only those who understand English. This is our chance to present them with some of our quality and multi-language work, making, at the same time, that this valuable document reaches the scientific communities in different countries and languages. If your team has the "Desiging the Future" PDF Book fully proofread, or fully translated and possible to make its proofreading a priority in your team, please let us know, both by replying to this email and updating that information on your progress reports: https://sites.google.com/site/ltpms2/progress-reports  (in english, please : ) Some teams might have this item fully proofread but not yet in Pootle. Hi! : ) Romanian and French are completed in Pootle. If that is their location for the final results,they are both done ; ) Ana, Serbian team: I don't know which is the deadline. If you can make it a priority, it might be ready in time. But if it doesn't get ready in time, it always gets done ; ) What is not advisable is that it becomes a lower quality translation or with errors because of rushing the project. Then we would be rushing it into being rejected :D Anyone else there with "Designing the Future" PDF finished or on the way?

This is not a call with a deadline.
It's a request that all of the already completed translations be pulled
together, converted into PDF and made available for distribution in the
system that Roxanne is already proving to be very responsive for the English
version. Considering the audience she is capturing, if your team has it
nearly done, I'm asking that you make it the Team's NEXT priority (not 'drop
everything and do it now'). As with most things, if you're in a position to
bump it up in your Team priority lists, take the time to do it without
stress or rush. This distribution channel is not going to dry up any time
soon. :)

As for converting them back to PDF, we still need to develop/adopt an
approach to use for any/all PDF conversions. This would likely fall under
the Linguistic TechTeam domain, although the TechTeam needs help to attract
more people than just Txetxo (who has recently agreed to be the coordinator
as we build up that group). I've asked Roxanne to supply us with the images
that are contained within Designing The Future and she should be getting
them to me hopefully by the end of the weekend.

Sorry for the delay Julius. My focus has been almost exclusively on
building out the new LingTeam forum.

Woohoo! He finally contacted me last night to get this moving. I'm about
to reply to an email that he sent earlier today about this and I'm CCing you
on it to connect the two of you. He tried to set up an FTP server to handle
the file transfers, but that didn't work out so well. We're now looking at
using his Dropbox for it, unless you already have it uploaded somewhere for
him to grab it. There's more to this, but you'll see that in the email.

This is such a great question/situation that I'd LOVE for it to be carried over to the LingTeam forum for the answer.    :D
