Global Zimbabwe Forum Mourns Nora Tapiwa

It is with a most profound sense of sadness that the Global Zimbabwe Forum (GZF) would like to confirm the news of the passing away of its one of its most influential and longstanding leaders, Nora Tapiwa-Rusike.

The entire GZF network across the Zimbabwean Diaspora expresses its deepest sympathies and condolences to both the Tapiwa and Rusike families at this time of loss and mourning. Our hearts go out to her surviving two children Kudakwashe and Kundai.

Nora passed away in her sleep on Tuesday 18th March 2014 overnight while visiting one of her friends at Pretoria. She had not been feeling well for some time.

At the time of her death, Nora was serving as both the national Co-ordinator of the GZF-SA chapter and also as the Board secretary for the Zimbabwe Diaspora Development Chamber (ZDDC). She was based mostly at Braamfontein in Johannesburg for the past decade.

Mourners are gathered at number 50, El Street, Elsburg in Germiston, East Rand.

A special memorial service will be held on Sunday 23rd March 2014 afternoon at a venue to be confirmed.

Nora will be buried back home and her body is expected to leave for Zimbabwe on Monday 24th March 2014

A special trust fund has also been set up to support the family’s funeral arrangements. Everyone is welcome to make any form of donations in cash or kind.
