May be worthwhile to add to some global faq, but I can't seem to find the name of
the recommended dp2hdmi adapter for use with these (I assume they can do the
4k@120hz mode? I think I remember reading that). Reason I'm asking is through
some quirk of my current GPU I get no pre-os output over displayport (so BIOS
POST/setup screen, bootloader, etc) with it (Asrock RX 5700 XT TAICHI; this issue
is not unique to zisworks' kit [happens with at least one other off-the-shelf monitor]),
so I am hoping I can work around this issue by using the HDMI ports (no guarantee
those work in this situation, but its worth a shot).

There are some people using HDMI to DP adapters (for consoles mostly, but it doesn't work well), but the main problem with them is that they modify the EDID, usually overwriting the extension block with one generated by the adapter.  This breaks 4k120 tiling operation and can also result in a no-display situation if they adapter modifies the EDID in a way that results in a malformed block.

Usually AMD cards don't show pre-boot screens to x28 (nvidia cards usually do work).  If you have one, try hooking up your TV via HDMI to access bios.

A pity. Worth a shot.

I actually have 3 other amd cards that do show it on the x28 (this issue with this card is
a problem with the dp outs, not the monitor; a plain off-the-shelf monitor works on dp,
so the issue is card related.

Yeah, that's what I do when I have need of it. Need to look into more stuff at some point,
maybe work around it.

On another note, what is the 'ideal' power supply for one of the samsung x28 setups?
The ones I got early on seem to be bugging out a bit.

For x28-modded H750, any  quality 12v to 14v power supply with 3A or higher rating is ok.  If you use strobe/scan mode, may want to look for 5A or above ratings (it doesnt draw more power, but the draw is bursty).

Jack size is 2.5x5.5, barrel jack, should be common.  Inner-positive polarity.
