Are the V420DK1-LS1 and V420DK1-KS1 both compatible? The LS1 has a LVDS interface and the KS1 has a v-by-one interface.

Also, is there a popular TV that used these panels? I'm having a lot of trouble sourcing one.

Where are you located?

Yes on both of those, but its best to send me a pic of the tcon before purchasing the panel, I'll check whats there.

Recommend u28h750 for overall best experience.

I'm in the USA. The only place I've found that is selling just the panel is a seller on alibaba. This is probably a picture of the back of it. I realize that the image quality is worse on the VA panels, but I specifically need a 120hz 42" monitor and the ones on the market are even worse.

Yeah, its hard to find 42" panels.  Check your local market for 39/40/42" and cross reference with ebay or shopjimmy.com to find the tcon.  If the tcon is removeable (not glued to panel) and is on an innolux panel, it should be compatible.

Known-tested compatibility table:
42" SE42UM (must use seiki backlight driver, no scanning)
40" Lg 40ub8000
40" BDM4065 (must use philips backlight driver, no scanning)
39" SE39UY04
39" SE39UY04-1 (must use seiki backlight driver, no scanning)
28" U28H750 (quantum dot backlight)
28" UHD TN panel from any vendor

Others are untested but may work, send picture of tcon.

Thanks for that list, I'll see if I can find that seiki TV.

One more question - if I find a panel from some distributor in china how likely is it to be compatible? I doubt I'd be able to get them to send me a picture before they send it.

Strongly recommend against.  The shipping cost and risk of breakage (or scam) is too high to justify.
