I was just wondering which hub to buy..10 or 100mbps for LAN.

Up to 4 pc's running Quake 1,2 &3.

Is a 10mbps fast enough? because the 100mbps is heaps more expensive!!!

Thanks for any info

10 mbps is fast enough for up to 8 (quake 1/ quake 2 ) without a dedicated
server & after that you start to notice a bit of lag. With a dedicated
server......lots and lots. 10mpbs is much faster than a 56k modem so at
least double anything you can do on the net. Okay?

btw this is from experience with Q1/2 lans. Other games with different
network scripting should follow the same pattern but no promises.

Even with 10mbps I think you'lhit a max number of players because of the
server rather than coz of bandwidth. :)

At any rate, its more than adequate for a 4 client network.

Consider that a T1 is 1.54mbps. Yes, 10BaseT is fast enough unless
you're tossing gigabyte files around the network.
