Protecting National Interests in Space

As more and more nations join the list of space faring countries and Earth's
natural resources dwindle away, the situation of conflict over resources in
space cannot be many decades away. I'm sure that many people have considered
this possibility and a few governments may have already conducted studies. I
am interested in hearing any views on the subject and reading any papers
that may have been published.
