I'm happy to welcome of
Brian Devins to the core team, will all access possible on OpenZipkin projects.
Brian works for
Cox Automotive, with a lot of his earlier Zipkin work on
DealerDotCom. For example, 2 years ago, he shared his work using
Elastic Beanstalk to deploy Zipkin. He was the first to help existing applications coexist with OpenTracing, beginning with a
sleuth bridge and continuing to the current
Brave one. He's also helped quite a bit server-side, starting with Amazon's Elasticsearch service with Kinesis in the
zipkin-aws repo.
Many of you wouldn't necessarily know Brian's focus as he has been pitching in quite generically and consistently on
gitter. This cross-cutting help is appreciated especially in core team members as users come from varied backgrounds. By granting Brian more access, he can also help more on the gears of our release pipelines, unblocking releases, reorganizing project structure and similar well received forms of help.
If you are interested in what Brian's working on now, follow him on
X-Ray related activities, including data mapping modeling, and instrumentation work. Basically, allowing zipkin apps to send data reliably to X-Ray instead of normal storage for those preferring fully cloud infrastructure. Best place is to follow the
zipkin-aws repo.
Meanwhile, please help me with a late welcome of Brian to the core team!
