My 4 year old was soooo excited to try this winter hat art project! And I feel so bad, because last night was one of those nights that was GO GO GO. So by the time I finished being a chauffeur, making dinner, and helping all 3 kids with their homework, I was too exhausted to fully make this project with my little guy.

I used liquid watercolour paint (I linked to the exact brand that I used in the list above). Any watercolour paint should work, but I like the liquid paint because you do end up needing quite a bit of paint for this project to cover the entire hat.

I set my kids up at the kitchen counter tonight to work on this winter hat art project. My little guy (4 years old) was quick to get his done! He was already painting while the girls (8 and 6 years old) were still carefully drawing out their designs.

Project Winter Mobile is an action and adventure game, inspired by hits like Among Us, that takes you to a wasteland plunged in the freezing cold of winter. Here, you'll meet up with seven other players, among which will include one or more traitors - and you just might be one of them. The objective in this title is to either locate the impostors or to escape, depending on which role you're assigned.

Winter residents work out of 100 square foot studios in Maxon Mills: a historic grain mill in the heart of town. They have 24-hour access to their studios and our ceramics studio. (Please note that our wood shop and print shop are closed in the winter.)

2. Project content can focus on any topic. The only rules are that projects cannot be illegal or harmful to the student or others! Any idea or inspiration can become a Winter Term project. Topics may include academic fields, career exploration/development, skill building, hobbies, personal development, research, and so much more. Check out the Winter Term e-Portfolio Gallery to see how other students have turned their ideas into full Winter Term projects.

3. The first step in project planning is to review the Individual Project Guide. Students will then design their own project title, which will appear on their official transcript. Titles are strictly limited to 30 characters, including spaces. The title entered on the application page will appear, as is, on the student transcript.

4. All individual projects must have an Oberlin College faculty or staff sponsor. Students will initiate their sponsorship request by providing their potential sponsor with a full description of their project concept, learning goals, agenda, and planned project artifacts in the online project application.

Shelters and outreach workers are working hard to meet the needs of the homeless throughout the year but winter is especially hard for Toronto's most vulnerable. Overcrowded conditions at shelters combined with budget cutbacks leave many people stranded and left to fend for themselves against the harsh elements. The kits offer some welcome relief for these individuals and act as a conversation starter.

PennDOT District 6 says with U.S. 1 improvements between Old Lincoln Highway and the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Bucks County (Section RC1) completed in December 2022, construction this winter will focus on the construction of two new bridges north of the PA Turnpike (Section RC2) as the U.S. 1 Improvements Project continues to make progress.

A third project, RC3, will improve U.S.1 from the Penndel/Business U.S. 1 Interchange north through the Route 413 overpass. The project remains in Final Design and is not yet scheduled for construction.

Keep your eyes peeled for winter birds like woodpeckers, chickadees and Eastern towhees that inhabit Wave Hill during the season. Kids will make birdy marionettes then take their creations to the Sarah and Geoffrey Gund Theater to make them sing and dance in a mini performance. All ages.

Globally, stoneflies are one of the most threatened aquatic orders in the world as a result of climate change, pollution, and benthic substrate loss. In Arkansas, a group of winter stonefly (Capniidae: Allocapnia) includes multiple rare and endemic species that have not been surveyed since the 1980s because species-level identification requires the adult form, which is rarely collected. Our study objectives were to use existing larval Allocapnia data collected in Arkansas to examine what stream environmental conditions could be associated with presence and to determine how Allocapnia distribution may have shifted with climate change since the 1980s. We used species distribution modeling to predict where there species occur within the region. This information will be used to inform sampling design and effort across Arkansas study sites in winter 2020-2021 that will provide species-specific population distribution and status in Arkansas.
