Errors related to msvcp120.dll can arise for a few different different reasons. For instance, a faulty application, msvcp120.dll has been deleted or misplaced, corrupted by malicious software present on your PC or a damaged Windows registry.

In the vast majority of cases, the solution is to properly reinstall msvcp120.dll on your PC, to the Windows system folder. Alternatively, some programs, notably PC games, require that the DLL file is placed in the game/application installation folder.

Some games or applications may need the file in the game/application installation folder. Copying it from Windows systemfolder to the install-folder of the game/application should fix that problem.Make sure to use the 32bit dll-file for 32bit software, and 64bit dll-file for 64bit software.

I created .exe using VS2013 and I added it directly to control panel by giving registry path. I built it for x64. It launches perfectly fine for Win8.1x64. But when I launches it on Win7x64 it gives MSVCP120.dll error. If I copy dll it works. But does the dll's are connected directly to .exe? If not how do I attach them?

However, please don't copy DLLs around willy-nilly. You need to make sure the redistributable is installed either as part of your installer or separately by the user. For example, you can have your installer detect the existence or not of the redistributable and alert the user to install it. You could include it with your installation package, which is allowed.

Note that there are 2 versions of the redistributable, for x86 and x64. You need to supply the right one(s) for your application. You can use this link to download the Visual C++ redistributable packages for Visual Studio 2013.

I had this problem myself as well. I found that even after installing x64 version of MSVC redistributable, the msvcp120.dll file was missing in SysWOW64 directory. The issue was solved after installing also x86 version.

We have installed tizen studio verison 4.5 then installed tv extentions and extras from Extention SDK in package manager.
And tried to run the emulator manager from tizen studio then got error of msvcp120.dll and msvcr120.dll were missing after that we downloaded the msvcp120.dll and msvcr120.dll file then pasted in path = (C:\Windows\SysWOW64) and we tried to run emulator now
we are getting error (the application was unable to start correctly.

Google Search says:
The Application Was Unable To Start Correctly (0xc000007b) is an error that either indicates some components required to start your game are missing , or that you have downloaded the wrong version (bit-wise) for your operating system.

I have checked the prerequisites you linked. I meet all of them except having an NVIDIA GPU. Would that cause the emulator to fail? Google suggests reinstalling the application. I have done this twice for Tizen and the C++ redistributables without success. Do you have any other suggestions?

@r.liechty_SDR Thanks for your response. I managed to get the Tizen Emulator working after reading this guide, and messing around for an hour. Here are the steps I took to get it to work on Windows 11:

If you are a developer I suggest you uninstall Visual Studio 2013 and install the supported Visual Studio 2008. I would guess installing an unsupported version of Visual Studio could be something to do with this.

If you are a developer I suggest you uninstall Visual Studio 2013 and install the > supported Visual Studio 2008> . I would guess installing an unsupported version of Visual Studio could be something to do with this.

I would completely uninstall VS2013 and completely uninstall any Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Packages you have (you can do both from Add/Remove Programs in the Windows Control Panel). Then reboot and try running 2.1.0.

Uninstall Visual Studio 2013 itself. If you are not a developer, why you do you need it? If you do intend to compile apps, you need the supported version of Visual Studio for XP SP3 which is VS2008, not VS2013.

We are trying to get 2.1.0 running. We have nothing to do with the Audacity Portable project . If you have problems with that please ask here Audacity Portable Support PortableApps.com. But yes Audacity 2.0.6 supplied by us on XP SP3 may need the appropriate Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86 or x64 according to whether you have a 32-bit or 64-bit system). Which do you have - 32-bit or 64-bit?

well, however, thank you for clearing things up. so audacity (portable) needs vs2008 redis. in order to work. this was also a question of mine some posts ago.

to put this in a nutshell, i will reinstall vs2008 redis. sp1 and let you know if it worked.

There are various things you can try to fix the 2.1.0 problem but they will get increasingly complicated. For example there could be a conflict with other copies of msvcp120.dll and mvscr120.dll on your computer. If you liked you could search your computer for any other copies of those files and tell us where they are (be sure to search in hidden files and folders).

The next simplest (which may not lead anywhere) but not hard for you to do, is to download Dependency Walker. Extract the files from the ZIP then run depends.exe (it is portable, not an installer). Drag audacity.exe into it, File > Save the .dwi file, post it on dropbox or your favourite file storage site and give us the web address of the download.

concerning the two dlls, i have searched my computer using everything (tool) and they are only present in audacity and firefox portable, so that should be no harm. the event viewer (system log) only showed the already known error message when starting audacity, with no further hint at all.

If you did not get Audacity from us at Audacity Download for Windows please redownload from there. For example if you downloaded a debug version of Audacity from somewhere else, that will not run.

I have sent you and ledestin private messages containing a link to a replacement SSE-only binary I made for 2.1.0. This is not an official release of 2.1.0 but is to enable you to test that the problem is use of SSE2 instructions. Please do not distribute the build to others. It will be identifiable as not the official 2.1.0 release and there will be no technical support for it.

I keep getting the error that I am missing these two DLL files the thread is so titled. I've tried downloading them, both 64 and 32 bit, put them in the right places, but i get the "application failed to start" error with code "0xc000007b". I've tried uninstalling the redist packages (32 and 64) for 2010 per instructions and reinstalling, no go. I need to use this software, you guys! Help! Windows 10 64, fresh install, fully updated.

I'm having the same problem.. Been using Spriter for several years, but now I had to format the PC. When trying to open Spriter, I got these missing dll messages. Installed both Visual Studio 2013 C++ runtimes on a clean Windows 10 and it didn't work. Help please

Every time so far someone thinks this is the case, it's because they already have a newer version of visual studio installed, so the install does not let the install of 2013 actually take place. In this case, you unfortunately need to first uninstall the newer version, then install VS 2013.. later a windows update will restore you to the latest version, but the required dll files will stay intact and Spriter will work.

I think one other person had this issue and it turned out they were running some obscure antivirus which was preventing the required DLLs from installing, even though they are harmless... you could try temporarily disabling any realtime protection, reinstalling the visual studio distributes, then see if that works.

UPDATE - after installing some updates for Windows 10 and reinstalling VS 2013, I'm not getting the MSVCR120.dll and MSVCP120.dll error messages, but the MSVCP100.dll and MSVCR100.dll. Does this mean I have to install another Visual Studio runtime?

Hi having trouble getting Spriter to run for the first time. Getting missing dll file messages. I have installed Visual Studio 2013, both 32 and 64 bit as my machine is running 64. I uninstalled spriter and installed again. Same issue. Visual Studio 2013 is the latest on my computer. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate. Am I missing something?
